At King’s Auto Center, we see squeaky brakes all the time, and not all of them point to worn-out parts. Brake Squeaks Aren’t Always About Worn Pads Here are some surprising reasons your brakes might be making noise: Humidity or moisture buildup: Overnight condensation can create light rust on rotors, causing a squeak that goes away after driving a few blocks. Brake dust or debris: Sometimes it’s just dirt caught between the pads and rotors. Cheap or hard pad material: Some budget pads are just noisy by design. Glazed rotors: If brakes get too hot, the surface can glaze and start squeaking. These are things Matt called out in the shop when we filmed the video.
